As I am composing this content, Facebook have added a new feature in their own Messenger that gives people a more convenient and secure way to send or receive money between friends. This feature will be rolling out over the coming months in the US.

In a layman understanding, Facebook Messenger allows you as their awesome users to send and receive money, it is easy, free and cheap.

All you have to do as FB User is to click on a small "$" icon that will appear in Messenger and type in the amount they want to transfer. Facebook says the money is sent right away, although it may take one to three days to show up in your bank.

This is How it Goes:-

On the Facebook Messenger app, you will tap on a “$” icon on the screen that will lead to a payments screen, hence, allowing users to enter the amount of money they wish to send to a particular friend. Although, the both users involved in the transaction would need to have a debit card linked to their Facebook accounts to make the transfer.

You see, it is simple, short and easy. No too much step and tutorials, all you have to do click on the dollar sign and follow the step like the above guidelines.

In order to add security to the transaction, Facebook said users MUST create a PIN that which you must enter before a money transfer can be made, meanwhile all Apple iOS users can also enable Touch ID.

Facebook also said that users must add debit card information which they said would be “kept in a secured environment that is separate from other parts of Facebook,” and that a “team of anti-fraud specialists” will monitor the platform for suspicious activity.

According to the news, Facebook says the first time you use payments, you'll need to add a Mastercard or Visa debit card issued by a US bank. It's not clear yet when the option for credit cards will be added, or when the service will expand internationally.

Facebook says for now its avoiding credit cards to cut down on fraud and fees. The service will be coming to iOS, Android, and desktop in the US over the coming months.

Below is a short steps to send and receive payments from a friend.
